Reading the checks
How to read the Business Plan checks: blockers, warnings and info, and what integrity, truth guard, liquidity, owner pay and debt service each test.
A finding is a blocker, a warning or info, and points at its cell.
| Check | Rule |
|---|---|
| Integrity | The statements must agree |
| Truth guard | Every figure is a model cell |
| Sections, statements | Required ones present at the required detail and horizon |
| Liquidity | Lowest month-end cash below zero is a blocker, below the buffer a warning |
| Owner pay | Covers the living costs you enter |
| Debt service | Worst year under 1 is a blocker; under the pack minimum a warning |
| Equity share | Total equity over total assets at a year end |
| Break-even | Within the pack's months |
| Open inputs | Needs-your-value is a blocker; illustrative or to-verify a warning |
| Forms | A list of documents to prepare |
The plan is ready for a pack when there is no blocker.
