The one page that carries the ask

How the Business Plan one-pager is built: problem, solution, market, key figures and the ask from the model, and why it is a draft until you confirm.

Most people who read your plan will read one page of it. Business Plan can make that page from the same model as the plan, so it cannot disagree with it.

What is on it#

The one-pager has the problem, the solution and the market, taken from the first wording of those sections of your plan, then the key figures of the forecast and the ask. The ask is the model's own equity, loans and grants, not a number you typed. Figures come only from cells, and a made-up figure or a broken model is refused in the same way as for the full plan.

Draft and final#

Like the full export, the one-pager is a draft while any input is unconfirmed, and says so. It becomes final only when everything is confirmed and approved. Sending an unconfirmed page to an investor is the thing the flag prevents.

Why from the same model#

If you keep a separate slide with revenue and the funding, it drifts. When you change your price in the model, the slide is wrong. A one-pager built from the model changes with it, and the PDF carries the same figures as the plan.

Choosing the length and the look#

The full plan can be concise, short or long, in one of three designs. A design change never changes a word or a number, so you can try the three before deciding.

What is not there#

There is no Word export, and the pitch is one page, not a slide deck. If you need slides, make them from the plan's key figures in another tool and keep the figures in step by hand.

A habit#

Export the one-pager at the end of every working session. It takes seconds and tells you at a glance what the model currently says.
